Queso and I moved up to Ogden immediately after I finished my PhD in mid December. We're both getting used to the cold and enjoying the alpenglow on the snowy Wasatch Mountains. I'm teaching Sedimentology and Stratigraphy and Historical Geology this Spring so it should be a busy and fun semester.
After having to push back my flight from Tucson twice due to visa issues, a longer-than-planned stay in Buenos Aires, including 3 canceled flights and finally being the only person on standby to get literally the last seat on the plane, I'm finally in Mendoza. Three empanadas and a glass of wine later I feel home. Incredibly excited for another field season in the high Andes.
I just got back from a great week of geology and catching up with old friends at the GSA annual meeting. Exciting talks, new collaborators, and lots of tasty food. Already looking forward to the 2015 meeting in Baltimore!
My name is Elizabeth Balgord. I am a PhD Candidate in Geology at the University of Arizona. Feel free to browse my webpage!
